DESCRIPTION:\n\nWe invite you to join us for a discussion on Navigating Your Academic Journey as a Graduate Student, where we will share experiences, exchange ideas, and support one another in key areas of academic life.\nThis session will provide a space to discuss challenges and strategies related to publishing research, including preparing a thesis for publication, negotiating authorship, and identifying reputable journals while avoiding predatory publishers.\nWe will also explore experiences with presenting at conferences, from selecting the right academic venues to preparing effective posters and oral presentations, as well as building meaningful professional connections.\nAdditionally, we will reflect on common academic challenges such as understanding the distinction between impact and outcome, managing rejection, and navigating the competitive publication process.\n\n \nIf you wish to attend, please contact Liquaa Wazni (lwazni@uottawa.ca ( mailto:lwazni@uottawa.ca )) or Hamze Al-Chami (malchami@uottawa.ca ( mailto:malchami@uottawa.ca )) to receive the meeting link.\n
