October 29, 2021 – Community of Practice (CoP)
Please join us on October 29th, at 1:00 p.m. to share your experiences as a graduate student.
We are going to be dedicating the upcoming sessions of the CoP to talk about challenges that you are encountering or have encountered as a graduate student. The sessions will provide an opportunity for graduate students to learn from each other by sharing their experiences and receiving knowledge and peer-support.
The process of exchanging ideas and thinking together can help engage and empower students, increase socialization and sense of belonging and create a space for problem-solving and voicing concerns. Therefore, we strongly encourage all graduate students, especially our first-year students to join the CoP sessions.
Remember that our community of practice is student-led and provides a safe and confidential space to discuss your concerns. Some of the topics might include, but not limited to, workload, type of courses offered at the graduate level, virtual versus face-to-face learning, fast-tracking, length of the program, relationship with supervisor, changing paradigms/research/methodologies, research and teaching assistantship, resources, etc.
Our plan is to bring your voices forward at our meetings with Graduate School Councils and Graduate Associations and their representatives.
We look forward to seeing you there!
