Postcolonial Research Hub
We are establishing a Postcolonial Research Hub led by Dr. Veldon Coburn from the Institute of Indigenous Research and Studies and Dr. Wendy Gifford from the School of Nursing.
The aim of the hub is to provide a unique transdisciplinary setting for Indigenous and non-Indigenous researchers, trainees, students, and community members to engage with, explore, and study Indigenous epistemologies, methodologies, and postcolonial/decolonial theories.
We will be hosting a bi-annual symposium called Finding Common Ground to bring together Indigenous and non-Indigenous researchers, trainees, students, and community members to discuss and engage in cross-cultural sharing for developing, conducting, understanding, and disseminating research.
The last Finding Common Ground symposium took place December 8, 2022 and was held in partnership with Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada.
Please contact Dr. Wendy Gifford (wgifford@uottawa.ca) or Dr. Veldon Coburn (vcoburn@uottawa.ca) for further information.
